5 Really Easy Boss Moves for 2020
As the year comes to an end, many of us will be looking forward to stuffing our faces with turkey, spending time with family and loved ones, or simply taking some time off work and college. What many people will be talking about soon enough are New Year Resolutions.
Last year, you may have resolved to be better than the person you were the year before but those resolutions may have somehow gotten thrown out the window along the way. However, it’s not too late to do some things to start next year with a bang. Here are a few things you can do to start the year 2020 on an even more productive note.
Create a Budget
Creating a budget plan, or an Excel sheet to track your spending is a great way to start off the year and plan what direction your finances will go for the next 12 months. Feel free to click on here to see a spreadsheet I used over the past year to do just this.
You can also get many budgeting plans online with a simple Google search.
Weed out the Haters
One of the best things you can do for yourself next year is to get rid of any toxic friends and acquaintances. These are the people who take more from you than they give, those that you don’t particularly enjoy spending time with, and those that probably don’t have your best interests at heart. You’re better off without people who don’t have your back especially when you need them the most.
Not only will you feel good about not feeling any negativity around you, but you will also have more time to channel into the people and things that add value to you.
There’s a saying that goes something like “A clean house is a clear mind”. Keeping a clean house is a great way to get organized and keep your mind at ease.
Perhaps start off small by donating your old clothes to a charity which will help those that are less fortunate.
Drink more water!
Towards the end of the year, it might be quite difficult to maintain a healthy diet during the festive season. Nonetheless, increasing your daily intake of water is the first step to a healthier you.
You’ll thank yourself for it in terms of getting clearer skin, and improving your metabolism.
Clean your Phone
I mean inside and out. Your mobile phone is probably the one item that you bring with you everywhere, from the kitchen to the bathroom. It also touches your face when you’re on a call, and other surfaces. Not to gross you out, but a study conducted at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine found that fecal matter can be found on 1 in 6 mobile phones, so it’s probably a good idea to clean your phone occasionally. It’s best to read the cleaning instructions outlined by the manufacturer of your mobile phone, otherwise, just give it a wipe with a microfibre cloth and a tiny bit of water.
Regarding the content of your phone, clean out those apps you never use but are taking up a significant amount of memory.
Although some of these tips can help ease your way into 2020, make sure you make time for yourself to enjoy the break, kick off the shoes, and relax! You can check how to do that in last week’s blog post.
